Stone Flooring
Most people generally think of stones like granite and marble for their countertops, and though not every stone is best suited for the floor, many can make a beautiful statement. Below we highlight which stones work best as a flooring option and in which situations.
- Marble is a gorgeous stone, but it is also a soft stone. Therefore, it should not be placed in a high traffic area. It also may need frequent cleaning and sealing.
- Granite
- Limestone can be polished for a smooth look, or tumbled for a more worn look. It, similarly to marble, will need regular sealant repairs to avoid staining and pitting.
- Slate tile is a more rugged stone and is also highly durable. The color does vary, but it adds to the aesthetic.
